Cards, letters, postcards and telegrams from friends, musicians, work colleagues and associates, as well as from the general public. Some individuals include Anthony Gishford, Lennox Berkeley, Rosamund Strode, Isador Caplan and Imogen Holst. Letters suggest Britten was in hospital for an infection and was advised to take three months rest.
Includes a letter with photographs of the 1965 Aldeburgh Festival. Photographs are of Marion Thope, Zoltan Kodaly, Gabor Jeney and other unidentified people. Photographs of concerts are likely to be inside the Jubilee Hall. This letter is signed by Colin from the Public Schools Club.
Also included is a photograph of Britten with his dog and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, taken by Erich Auerbach. This is likley to have been taken in Coventry during War Requiem. There is no letter with this photograph.
