The Holst Foundation is a charitable company set up in 1981 dealing exclusively with charitable grants, primarily in the field of contemporary music. It is not concerned with business activities (publications, promotional matters etc) relating to the music and writings of both Gustav and Imogen Holst. These are handled by G and I Holst Ltd; a limited company formed for this purpose in 1968. This organisation ensures the continiuity of approach and ideals of Imogen Holst herself, who was one of its directors up to her death. The registered office for both companies is Finers Stephens Innocent, 179 Great Portland Street, London where the statutory books are held.
