Programme for one in a series of BBC Symphony Concerts. The works to be performed are Rimsky Korsakov’s “Easter Festival Overture”, Bartók’s “Concerto no.2 for piano and orchestra” (first performance in England) and Arthur Bliss’s “Morning Heroes for Orator, Chorus and Orchestra”. The performers are Béla Bartók (solo piano), Ion Swinley (orator), the BBC Chorus and the BBC Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Adrian Boult).
