Programme for the first performance of Britten Albert Herring by the English Opera Group at the 1947 Glyndebourne Festival at Glynebourne in Sussex. The performance was conducted by Britten, and soloists included Joan Cross (Lady Billows), Pears (Albert Herring) and Margaret Ritchie (Miss Wordsworth). The programme contains a synopsis of the opera, a list of members of the English Opera Group and the English Opera Group Chamber Orchestra, and information about the Glyndebourne Opera and forthcoming productions at Glyndebourne and the Edinburgh Festival. There is also a flyer which describes the aims of the English National Opera, and lists the directors, artistic directors, conductors, producers, singers, orchestra members and musical staff of First Season (1947).
