On July 22, Britten conducted the English Opera Group production (Continental premiere) of Britten Albert Herring, and soloists included Pears and Nancy Evans. The performance was repeated on July 26. Britten The Rape of Lucretia was performed on July 24 (by the English Opera Group conducted by Britten), and Pears performed Britten Les Illuminations on July 25.
