Programme for the 5th Annual Cheltenham Festival of British Contemporary Music in Cheltenham. Britten Albert Herring (with Pears as Albert Herring) was performed on 4 and 9 July, A Charm of Lullabies (with Nancy Evans as soloist) on 5 July, The Little Sweep on 5, 7, and 9 July, and The Rape of Lucretia (with Pears as the Male Chorus) on 6 and 8 July. The three operas were performed by the English Opera Group. The programme contains a schedule of events for the whole Festival, photographs of the composers and soloists (including Britten and Pears), production photographs from Albert Herring and The Rape of Lucretia, concert notes on the works performed, and a list of Festival Guarantors, Cheltenham Arts Festival Ltd committee members, Festival Associates, information about the forthcoming Cheltenham Festival of Contemporary Literature, and various commerial advertisements.
