Volume 1, No. 1 of International Music News, which is also a programme for the Pittsburgh International Contemporary Music Festival held at various venues in Pittsburgh. On 24 Nov 1952, Britten Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings was performed in a Series A Concert at the Carnegie Hall in Pittsburgh. Soloists included Leslie Chadby (tenor) and Forrest Standley (horn), and the programme contains photographs of the president, directors, composers (including Britten) and conductors, an introduction by the preseident, performance photographs, various rticles on modern music, an article on the Chamber Orchestra of Basle, an outline of the purpose of the Festival, a list of Festival committee members and International Jury, a schedule of events for the whole Festival, short biograhies of the composers, and a short article on premiere of Britten The Little Sweep in Israel. There is also a list of results of an International Jury Poll of the top 50 contemporary composers, in which Britten features at number 32.
