Leaflet giving the programme of performances for the duration of the ninth Festival which opened with the operas, Venus and Adonis by John Blow (a new realisation by Imogen Holst) and Savitri by Gustav Holst. Also performed that year was Priaulx Rainier's new work, Requiem and Britten's Let's Make an Opera. There was a Children's Concert with a choir made up of children from a number of the region's schools, a concert marking the centenary of the death of Robert Schumann, a performance of religious verse, The Heart of the Matter with an especially written prologue and epilogue by Britten, and a number of other Choral and Orchestral Concerts. The Aldeburgh Players performed The Dumb Wife of Cheapside and there was also a performance of Mime by Victor Azaria.
