Magazine piece on the Aldeburgh Festival in which Noël Goodwin reports on the Festival and conducts an interview with Stephen Reiss, the general manager of the Festival. Traces the growth of the Festival from a few concerts given by friends to one of international significance, and includes comments on the expansion of the Festival and the impact of the newly opened Maltings which allowed the Festival to flourish. Also remarks on the plans for the following year's Festival which was to include a new style of opera production specially conceived for the Maltings.
