Previously bound typescript titled 'Libretto C' which is a copy of Britten's working copy of the libretto made before or during rehearsals. It contains some alterations in Britten's hand and others in an unknown hand. There are notes on the second page by Peter Pears and Rosamund Strode relating to the provenance of the typescript.
