Photographs from a production of Don Pasquale

Basil Coleman was the director of this 1973 HTV production of Gaetano Donizetti's opera Don Pasquale. Richard Armstrong conducted the Welsh Philharmonia with the Welsh National Opera Chorale. The cast included Sir Geraint Evans as Don Pasquale, Ryland Davies as Ernesto, Lillian Watson as Norina and Russell Smythe as Dr. Malatesta. There are 32 photographs in this file and a folder of promotional material produced by HTV. There are 14 colour polaroid photographs mostly of individual cast members; however two are of Coleman standing on set, posing arm in arm with Evans, and one is of Evans in costume enjoying his lunch during a break. There is also a folder of larger photographs of the production, 14 of which are black and white and 4 are in colour, one of which is of Coleman directing some cast members on set.
