Basil Coleman directed this BBC series which aired from 25 Sep-27 Nov 1977. There were filming locations in Hungary. There are photographs of Coleman at work directing the production or alongside the actors or other colleagues including a team photograph in matching T-shirts. There are stills from the production as well as behind the scenes photos. A publicity photograph of Sheila Gish has been signed with a message to Coleman. Copies of period photographs, which were probably source material for wardrobe or the designer, are included in the envelope which contained them. The cast included Nicola Pagett as Anna Karenina, Eric Porter as Karenin, Robert Swann as Levin, Stuart Wilson as Vronsky and Sheila Gish as Princess Betsy. 2 of the production photographs are in colour.
