Basil Coleman was the producer of Mozart's opera performed by students of the Britten-Pears School for Advanced Musical Studies. The opera workshop culminated in 4 performances at the Mozart Festival which ran from 30 Aug-6 Sep. The performances were on 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th September with 2 different casts. These photographs show performers from both casts. Fiordiligi was performed by Carmen Pelton and Susan Waters; Dorabella by Gabrielle Prata and Rachael Hallawell; Ferrando by Benoit Boutet and Cristian Carrasco; Guglielmo by Gerald Finley and George Moseley; Don Alfonso by Alastair Harding and Mark Moliterno and Despina by Sung Ha Shin and Zoe Hwang. The Muscal Director was Murray Perahia and the Designer Roger Andrews. One of the photos shows Perahia conducting a rehearsal while Coleman watches standing with his hands supporting a young child who is sitting on the barrier in front of him; another shows Coleman giving a direction to a performer rehearsing on stage; and a third shows Coleman in evening dress chatting to two costumed performers backstage in a corridor.
