Note at the top of the invitation in Dora Herbert Jones' hand reads 'Holst asked me to sing for him whith his choir at Chichester. I said I couldn't get off unless perhaps G.S.D. [Gwendolen Davies] came- so he asked her too + we both went + sang there, DHJ'.
