The photograph in this series is of 8 members of the cast assembled on stage for the Decca recording of Albert Herring, Stereo SET 274/5.
Rehearsals began on March 31 at the Jubilee Hall, Aldeburgh, where the recording was made, with two sessions (10 - 1 and 5 - 8) daily over the five days from Saturday, 4th to Wednesday, 8th April. The orchestra was the English Chamber Orchestra.
The cast was: Sylvia Fisher as Lady Billows; Johanna Peters, Florence Pike; John Noble, the Vicar Mr Gedge; Owen Brannigan, Superintendant Budd; Edgar Evans, the Mayor Mr Upfold; April Cantelo, Miss Wordsworth; Joseph Ward, Sid; Catherine Wilson, Nancy; Sheila Rex, Mrs Herring; Peter Pears, Albert Herring; Sheila Amit, Emmie; Anne Pashley, Cis; and Stephen Terry, Harry.
