The production opened on 19 September 1978. Further performances were given on 23, 27, 30 September, 4 October, 24 , 27 and 31 March 1979. The last of these was broadcast live by the Texaco-Metropolitan Opera Radio network, which also relayed the performance of 19 April. There may have been other performances in April.
