It was out of this window I heard him trying over 'Venus'. Note in Imogen Holst's hand on rear of larger copy states 'Cottage at Thaxted, during 1st World War- the downstairs window is the music room where he began writing The Planets. The road in the foreground is wear Ralph walked past with soldiers late summer 1915.'
